Few of Our Favourite Things – 15-18 Months

Its time for another round-up of our favourite things for our toddler…all the things that we could not get enough of from 15-18 months.

1. Cookiie Pie Cotton Ring Sling

I cannot stop raving about this one! We recently took a holiday to Rajasthan and this Cookiie Pie double layer cotton ring sling was perfect for the hot climate. I could nurse and put Baby N to sleep during in the midst of a walking tour of a fort and he slept comfortably for over an hour.  The sling is very toddler-worthy. I don’t feel any strain on my back or shoulders even after carrying my 18mo for over an hour. And this handblock printed fabric is so beautiful, it would make a great addition to any outfit, Indian or Western.

A stroller would not have been practical because of the spiral staircases and narrow passageways in the fort. Thankfully I had my ring sling handy and babywearing to the rescue once again! . Baby N was comforted, nursed and put off to sleep in no time. He dozed comfortably for an hour and a half while Daddy N continued sightseeing, window shopping, took a break for refreshments and even took a tuk tuk ride to our lunch stop. He finally woke up when he smelt the food. 😁 . This is a @cookiiebabycarriers double layer cotton ring sling. It was suitable for the weather and very toddler-worthy. . By the way that is a really low and shabby carry I've done there. It's been a while since I've used an RS and Baby N was too restless to allow me to make adjustments. Still it served the purpose wonderfully and I didn't feel any strain on my back or shoulders even after carrying my 18mo for 1.5 hours. . #babywearing #wearallthebabies #toddlerwearing #keepthemclose #ringsling #ergonomic #naturalparenting #attachmentparenting #nursinginpublic #momstagrammer #momslife #motherhood #motherhoodunplugged #motherhoodthroughinstagram #toddlersofinstagram #momsofinstagram #momslittleman #indianmomblogger #vacaygram #vacationmode @rajasthan_tourism

2. Peppa Pig Little Library

Baby N’s latest favourite is the Peppa Pig Little Library, a collection of 6 mini board books covering everything a child might see in his daily life at home, at school, in the garden etc. Baby N goes through all 6 books every day, pointing out all the objects he recognises. This has become a daily bedtime ritual for us. And the really fun part is that the back of the books form a jigsaw puzzle that we play with once we are done reading. The books come in an 8x8cm size for little hands to grasp easily. The illustrations are bright and colourful and the text is really easy to follow along. We got this set as a return gift at a birthday party, but at Rs. 200 for the whole set of 6 this is a steal! I highly recommend it for little readers.

These days kids can't seem to get enough of Peppa Pig (or Baba as Baby N calls her). . 3. Mamaearth Moistrurizing Daily Lotion

Baby N has sensitive skin just like mine, it breaks out into rashes with any new cream or lotion. But his skin often felt dry after a bath so I decided to try MamaEarth Moisturizing Daily Lotion and it really suited his delicate skin. The best part about this particular lotion is that is is MadeSafe certified, which means that it is free from harmful toxins and chemicals. It is enriched with calendula extracts, shea and cocoa butter, leaving Baby N’s skin feeling soft and moisturized. This lotion has become a part of Baby N’s bathtime routine and I am glad I don’t need to worry about his skincare in the coming winter months

4. Magnetic Doodle Board / Magic Board

I got this magnetic doodle board from Mitashi Skykidz so that Baby N could do some mess-free art. These days he also likes picking up pens and imitating us writing so this board was perfect for him to play around it. An awesome feature of this particular board is that it has 4 colours so its not just plain black and white. Also it includes three stamps as well..no prizes for guessing that the car is Baby N’s favourite (“burrrr” as he calls it). This board was a lifesaver on a recent road trip as Baby N sat quietly in his car seat and doodled on for close to 45 mins, so this definitely makes it to my list of favourite things.

5. ToffyHouse Dungarees and Tee Set

I cannot get over how adorable kids look in dungarees. The latest addition to our collection is this Toffyhouse dungaree and T-shirt set. I love the colour and print (we love anything with cars) and it is made with the softest fabric. It has buttons at the neck for easily slipping it on and off and also at the crotch so you don’t have to pull the whole thing off for diaper changes. It also has two adjustable size settings at the shoulders. This is our favourite party outfit these days.

6. Skipperty Hopperty

With monsoon on in full swing for the last couple of months, we had to replace outdoors parks with indoor play areas. There is no dearth of play areas in Mumbai but Baby N just loves going back to this one again and again. Undoubtedly the star attraction is the toy train which I haven’t seen in any other play area. They also have a huge toy room filled with every toy you could ever want, in addition to a life size toy houses and various pretend play sets. My toddler can stay occupied in just this room alone for an hour. Then they have the usual array of play area attractions –  ball pool, ball shower, slides, swing, zipline trampoline, tunnels, ride-ons and a cafe. One more thing I really like is that they have utilized the 4,000 sq ft really well. It doesn’t feel cramped and cluttered like some of the other play areas I have visited. They have a BOGO offer going on for weekdays – get 2 hours for the price of 1. Do check it out if you happen to be in Mumbai.
