Expect the Unexpected - Diary of a 4 Months Old Baby | Baby & Beyond

This post is part of a series of posts I am writing titled Diary of a Baby chronicling the candid confessions of a baby from 0 to 2 years old.

You can read the previous post in the series here: Decoding Life’s Mysteries – Diary of a 2 Months Old Baby

Age: 4 months old

Dear Diary,

I know I haven’t written to you in a long time, but trust me life has been a whirlwind. So many things seem to be happening to me all at the same time, Mamma calls it a growth spurt.

Anyway, these last couple of weeks I was getting the feeling that the adults had started getting a bit complacent. I had started sleeping through the night and so were they. They had stopped putting an alarm to feed me. It’s almost as if they were forgetting about me at night! So I decided to shake things up a bit. Now I’ve started waking up every couple of hours at night again. This means I get some more mum-mum and some more snuggle time with Mamma. Of course Mamma spends most of this time Googling “Why won’t my baby sleep?” and “How to deal with the dreaded 4th month sleep regression”. Haha…with a baby in the house, they better learn to expect the unexpected now.

Expect the Unexpected – Diary of a 4 Months Old Baby | Baby & Beyond

The best part of my day these days is going down in the pram with Mamma in the evenings. I love looking at the trees, listening to the birds and watching the children playing in the park. I wonder when I’ll be able to join them. That swing thing sure looks fun. I can’t wait to get on my feet and run around with all the other kids.

Oh speaking of which, I almost forgot to share this developmental milestone with you. I can roll over on my own now. So whenever I feel like some tummy time, I don’t need to wait for someone to turn me over. I can just do it myself. Isn’t that amazing? Mobility is the best!

Ok, Gotta go now but I promise I’ll write more often. See you soon!

Ahh the dreaded 4th month sleep regression

I remember at 3.5 months when Baby N was sleeping 8 hours straight every night and I thought I was the most rockstar mom ever with the best baby ever, having it all sorted and figured out. Oh how hard the **^#%*^& 4th month sleep regression hit us and at 24 months I am still trying to get him to sleep through the night *sigh*. This is one parenting struggle that is so so real!
