Change is the Only Constant - Diary of a One Month Old Baby | Baby & Beyond

This post is part of a series of posts I am writing titled Diary of a Baby chronicling the candid confessions of a baby from 0 to 2 years old.

You can read the previous post in the series here: Boss Baby! – Diary of a 2 Weeks Old Baby

You can find the entire series here: Diary of a Baby

Age: One month old

Dear Diary,

The world is a wondrous place! There are so many beautiful, colourful things to see. You’re probably wondering why it took me a whole month to figure this out, but the truth is up until now my vision was all blurry. I used to think the world is a big blob of fuzziness. But actually things are starting to clear up a bit now. I think I can almost recognize Mamma and Papa’s faces when they come really close to me. I’m loving this new development! I wish they would take me out of this room more so that I can enjoy all the unending sights that the world has to offer.

These days my favourite time of the day is when Mamma gives me a massage and bath. That is our time to bond. Ahh..nothing quite as relaxing as a nice gentle massage followed by a warm bath, some mum-mum and a short nap to make you forget all of life’s worries. This the life Diary!

Change is the Only Constant – Diary of a One Month Old Baby | Baby & Beyond

What worries could a 1 month old possibly have you ask? Well the problem is that these days Papa doesn’t seem to be around much. So much keeps changing so fast in this life of ours. I don’t understand why he has to leave me every morning 🙁 Mamma tells me that he’s gone back to work and he has to go to some very important place called an “office”, but I wonder if it is because of something I have done 🙁 Is it because of that poopy diaper trick? I promise to stop doing that if it will get him to stay.

To show him how much I miss him, I put on my best smile the minute he comes home in the evening. I save all my cutest giggles for him. And I cry when he leaves the room. Mamma doesn’t seem to be jealous though. On the contrary she looks almost relieved and ecstatic the minute Papa comes home and almost runs in the other direction with glee. Hmph! Whatever…I’m going to go back to playing with Papa for now. Actually scratch what I said earlier. THIS is my favourite time of the day – when Papa comes back from the office – and I’m going to make the most of it.

See you soon!

Thank you Aesha! Actually at 1 month I was a little jealous 😀 Why should Papa get so much attention when I’m looking after him so day long. But these days I’m more than happy to give them some father son time 😂

    Wow! So cute!
Loved the way you have made an attempt to narrate the observations from the baby’s perspective. I bet this would be the best memorable gift for your kid.

Such a beautiful way of documenting your baby’s life. Loving this series Mahak! BTW, my son still prefers papa on most days, and TBH, its quite a relief to handover my duties after having spent my day running after him.

Haha absolutely…as the baby became a toddler, his excitement at seeing Papa in the evening multiplied and my relief also multiplied 😂😂

This is so interesting to read. It is nice how think from the perspective of a little baby. And yes, so many changes for the little one to adapt too. I hope the baby enjoys enough time with both the parents 🙂
