Time is a valuable resource for any mom. There is so much to get done and there never seems to be enough time for all of it. With the result that we end up pushing ourselves down to the bottom of our own priority lists. And the word “self-care” doesn’t even appear on our to-do lists.

 

We give so much of ourselves to our family, home and work, but if we don’t give ourselves what we need, then stress, anxiety, exhaustion and weakness can end up taking a toll on our health. And I am sure you have heard the saying, “You cannot pour from an empty cup.”

 

We would all love a nice day of relaxation and pampering at the spa, or a weekend getaway but it’s not always feasible. But what is feasible is taking a few minutes out of everyday for ourselves to take a break, rejuvenate and just take care of ourselves. And no, you do NOT need to feel guilty about this. Get moving:

I know that working out seems to be the last thing on your mind when you are already feeling tired, but exercise is actually a great way to reduce stress and release positivity-triggering endorphins in the body. You might actually find that a workout session leaves you feeling refreshed and recharged!

1. Take a walk around the block

4. Get out a skipping rope and jump

We remember our kids’ vaccination appointments and our husband’s medicines but we tend to forget our own don’t we?! Well you can’t care for anyone if you don’t have your own health so make it your number 1 priority.

    Very basic yet practical points. We forget to admire and enjoy the small things that can contribute towards self care. A very simple example is hanging out with friends. But even an hour spend with our dear one’s can entirely change our mood.
